WEDNESDAY

"XELLIE, THE BEAUTIFUL CLOAK MODEL." One of the old-time stage melodramas, ".Nellie, the Beautiful Cloak Model." has reached the silver „sihee<t and will be the attraction at the Empire Theatre on Wednesday. It was directed by Emmett ,Flynn for Goldwyn Pictures Corporation, and, was adapted by H. A. Van Loan and placed in continuity form by Carey Wilson. This play was originally produced about .fifteen years ago. and at once became: popular with the great public, which kept it alive for many years. Owen Davis, the author, 'has recently turned to the writing of comledy and realistic plays such as "The Detour," "Icebound," and "Tine Nervous Wreck," tut it is doubtful if any of them, despite twsir great success, will ever be seen by &o many- people nor enjoj'ed so hugel'v. as was his old-time nrelod.rama. "Nellie, the Beautiful Cloak Model." It became a model for its style of stage entertainment and Goldwyn has retained all of its melodramatic high-liehts in putting it in pinture form. The cast is an unusually brilliant one, , containing Claire Windsor as Nellie. Mae ißusch as her chum, Polly Jo'y: Edmund Lowe as her lover and other well known players.
