IN TE AWAMUTU BOKOUGH. ENGINEER'S FORTNIGHTLY REPORT. Mr W. D. R. McCurdie (borough engineer) presented lie following report to Monday's meeting of the Te Awamutu Borough Council: The weather during the whole fortnight has been vary broken. It i s not likely that any more asphalting can Le done this season, though small r.a'tches may be yet attended to. The Hood dip at the foot of Wallace Road will be attenc'ied to at first opportunity. Yard conveniences: All the concrete about tile sale yards convenances has teen laid and properly set. The contractor i s now engaged on the framework .of the superstructure. The roofing and the .plumbing work should be finished next week, and the contract handed over.

Alexandra Street: The footway has teen made up to the permanent level as tar as the earthwork is concerned. This will be rolied hard and sanded and made comfortable for walking on as soon as the ground is dry 'enough for rolling. The gateways have not be'en filled in yet. Users prefer 'them as they are fill the weather i s suitable to fill them in. We will then roll them hard and smooth in one quick operation, if possible. Earth for the- making of the footway has be'en given by Dr .Blundell and by the Presbyterian •Church. ,■ . ~ Water supply: A leak in the watermain near the Waipa bridge, Pirongia, on this sid-e of the river, was reported.
