HAMILTON MEETING ' SECOND DAY. The second day of the Hamilton Racing Club’s Spring Meeting was held yesterday in fine Feather. There was a fair crowd present and the ‘racing throughout was interesting. . The services of the stewards were required after the running of the Matangi Hurdles when the running, of the winner (Peter Maxwell) was, inquired into, as he finished last when well supported on Saturday. The inquiry proved satisfactory to the connections of the horse, but immediately after the stewards had also to hear a protest against the same horse, which was also in favour of Peter Maxwell’s connections, Following are the results:— Frankton, Handicap.—Pegaway 1, Wiltshire 2,.-Sulla 3. Matangi Handicap Hurdles.—Peter Maxwell 1, West Abbey 2. Chirrup, 3. Ruakura Stakes.—Flying Juliet 1, Tea Time 2, Capella Abbey 3. Hamilton Handicap.—Muraahi and Desert Glow (dead heat) 1, Cureaform 3. Desert Glow was in front half way down the straight, but Muraahi came 'with a great run and just got ut> in time to dead heat with Desert Glow. Taupiri Hack Handicap.—Mosaic 1, Pinon 2, Billikins 3. Waikato Steeplechase.—Pittsworitb( 1, Birkenella 2, Tuki 3. Birkenella was first into the straight, but once the last hurdle had been negotiated Piittsworth put in his claim and won with a bit in hand. Kirikiriroa Handicap.—Nancy ILee 1, The Lamb 2, Heisler 3. Archeen was sideways on when the harrier lifted and was left several lengths. Won by a length. Tauwhare Hack Handicap.—King Smock 1, Ring Potoa 2, .
