LONDON MARKETS.

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having received the following cable from their London house, under date of the 21st inst:— Butter.—Since our last report .prices are higher by 4s (now 2125). HAMILTON STOCK SALE. The Farmers' Go-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report:—ln the Frankton yards on Tuesday we had afair yarding of both steer and cow heef. Fat steers sold well up to the values of the previous week, and cow, beef was easier. An average number of fat sheep were offered, and competition if anything was better than reported -at recent markets. Both fat and store pigs again came forward in the usual large numbers, baconers and fat porkers being firm at advanced rates, as also were slips and storeporkers, weaners lacking the usual competition. Beef: Medium weight fat steers £l4 10s to £ls 2s; well 'donesmall £l2 12s 6d to £l4 ss, light £lO 10s to £il, small and unfinished £8 10s to £9 ss, heavy'fat cows' sold to £ll 15s, medium cows and heifers £8 12s 6d to £9 2s 6d, light £7 to £8 18s 6d, plain unfinished £5 12s 6d to £6 ss, stores £2 15s to £3 10s. Sheep: Heavy wethers, shorn £2. Is, light shorn 355, ■best shorn ewes 29s 6d to 34s 6d, fat 4 and 6 tooth maiden ewes in wool £2 to £2 Is, forward'ewes 32s to 335, 4 and 6 tooth wethers in store condition 355. Pigs: Good quality heavy baconers £5 to £5 9s, heavy £4 10s to £4 15s, medium £3 17s to £4 6s, light baconers and good porkers £3 10s to £3 16s, medium porkers £3 to £3 ss, well done small £2 12s to £2 17s, store porkers 37s to £2 ss, slips' 27s to 345, best weaner £1 to £1 ss, fair sorts 15s to 17s, small and young lis to 13s. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual weekly stock sale at Frankton yards on Tuesday, as under:—There was an average yarding of beef. Ox beef sold at £l2 15s to £l4 10s. only light weights being yarded. Prime cows and heifers sold at about late rates, although buyers were not keen owing to the quality not being so good as usual. Best, heavy cows made up to £ll 10s, ordinary cows and heifers (good quality) £8 to £9, inferior £5 15s to £5 15s, store cows £3 14s to £5, according to size and condition, (itaferiotr cows 30s to 455, 2 year old empty heifers £4, yearling heifers 29s to 40s, yearling bull 50s. Sheep were yarded in small numbers, only a few of which, were good quality. ~ Shorn heavy wethers made up to 41s 6d, woolly prime ewes 40s, moderate quality woolly wethers £2 2s. Pigs: A large yarding of both fat and. store pigs. Heavy baconers £4 19s to £5 4s, medium baconers £4 9s to £4 17s, heavy porkers £3 to £3 15s, light porkers £2 lis to £2 19s, large stores £1 15s to £2 2s, slips £1 8s to £1 14s, weaners 18s to £1 4s, small weaners s l2s to 16s. The New Zealand Loan and. Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report the Hamilton sale on Tuesday the supply of beef was larger than usual, but much of it was inferior quality. Well finished cattle sold at late rates but inferior declined in value. A smalt entry of stores met with a fair demand. Fat sheep sold under good competition at late rates. We quote: Light fat steers made £l2 4s to £l4, medium fat cows £B,to £9 2s, rough fat cows £4 14s to £5, yearling Jersey heifers 1 £4 to £4 13s, yearling Shorthorn steers £4 to £5 for a pen of good quality.
