INTENSE COLD EXPERIENCED.

TAIIHAPE, Wednesday.

After comparatively fine weather on Monday and Tuesday heavy rain set in last night and continued unceasingly throughout the night. This morning was. ushered in by a heavy fall of snow, which is lying on all rising ground in the vicinity of the town. At midday it was still snowing heavily, though there seems little chance of it lying owing to the of the surface Fortunately the high wind experienced over the week-end has abated, but the cold is intense.

HEAVY FALL OF SNOW. RAETIHI, Wednesday. Another severe snowfall occurred last night, and the whole country is again covered. _____
