A MIRACULOUS ESCAPE

MOTOR LORRY OVER A BANK. fßy Telegraph. Press Association.) ELTHAM, Wednesday. A miraculous escape from injury was the luck of Mr A. R. Gower, -lorry proprietor, and Mr Yates, of Eltham, yesterday afternoon, when Mr Gower's lorry went over a steep bank at a dangerous corner near Pukengahu. The steering gear locked, and the lorry went over the bank through a hedge and a wire fence, and ended its career in a bog, after travelling over a chain. Neither occupant jumped out, but luckily the lorry travelled on an even angle and did not capsize. No injuries were caused to the occupants, and very little damage was done to the lorry.
