SKIM MILK FOR HENS

■Sour skim milk—you don’t even have to bother keeping it sweet—is a great feed for laying hens. The Idaho Agricultural Experiment Station recently found that while tankage and meat-meal give profitable egg production, these feeds did not compare at all with sour skim milk. The report stated at the conclusion of its experiments that sour skim milk is outstanding as a poultry food, and is much better than whey. These conclusions as to the feeding value of skim milk are the same that other stations and practical feeders have arrived art.
