THIEF PLEADS GUILTY

RAILWAY DEPARTMENT’S PROPERTY. GISBORNE, This Day. At the Magistrate’s Court, Bazil Goodwin Breege, aged 19, and George Delvin Byford, aged 44, were charged with stealing goods of a total value of £B6 from the Railway Department. Breeze pleaded guilty and was committed for sentence. Byford pleaded not guilty, and was committed for trial. Breeze further pleaded guilty to stealing jewellery and bed linen from a local hotel. He was committed for sentence. Byford, charged with receiving portion of the stolen goods, was committed for trial, having pleaded not guilty.
