STEAMER BEACHED
AT CHATHAM ISLAND.
(By Telegraph. Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day.
A message received from the steamer Rama, which struck a rock near Kaingaroa (Chatham Islands) states that the vessel had to be beached, the stokehold, engine room and both holds being full of water. A northerly gale was raging at the time. The crew landed safely.
