PLAYING TWO-UP

RAID AT MATASIATA. TEN RESIDENTS FINED. (By Telegraph. Press Association.) MATAMATA, Friday. Ten local residents were charged in Court with playing two-up in view of passers-by en a recent Sunday. The charges were the result of a singlehanded raid by the Matamata constable, who dashed up in a motor car and beat the look out to his warning. Nine of the accused were fined £3 each and one youth £l. The 'look out' answered two charges, ono of which was obstructing the po ice He was fined £6 in all.
