The New Zealand Meat Producers' Board has received the following message, dated 2nd May, 1924, from its London office, advising the Smithfield delivered prices at that date as follows:—

New Zealand wethers and maidens, Canterbury quality selected brands, 56 lbs t arid under, 7|d per lb; 57 lbs to 64 lbs, 6ld per lb; 65 lbs to 72 lbs, 6|d per lb. Other brands: 56 lbs and under, 61d per lb; 57 lbs to 64 lbs, 6|d per lb; 65 lbs to 72 lbs, 6|d per lb.

New Zealand ewes: 64 lbs and under, 5Jd per lb. New Zealand lamb, Canterbury quality: 36 lbs and under, 10|tl per lb; 37 lbs to 42 lbs, lOid per lb; 43 lbs to 50 lbs, 9§d per lb. Seconds: lOd per lb. Selected brands: 36 lbs and under, lb; 37 lbs to 42 lbs, IOJd per lb. Other brands: First quality, 42 lbs and under, 9gd per lb; seconds, 9|d per lb. Argentine chilled beef: Ox fores, 45d per lb; ox hinds, 8d per lb. Argentine frozen beef: Oxj fores, 4d per lb; ox hinds, 6|d per lb. The demand for mutton is better, and the lamb market is strong, with a good dSmand. There is no quotation for New Zealand frozen beef or pork.
