COMPARATIVE FIGURES QUOTED. It was stated that if the rates come in during the current quarter as expected the whole of the ridings should have a satisfactory credit balance at March 31st. Some of them at present appear to be “cutting it fine,” but it should be remembered that there are considerable amounts of rates due and outstanding. The County has to guard against being penalised on 31st March by the application of the provisions of the’antecedent liability clauses of the Act. Therefore it is incumbent upon ratepayers to make every effort to pay their rates without delay.
