JUDGMENT FOR PLAINTIFFS. (By Telegraph—Press Association). AUCKLAND, Wednesday. . In the Supreme Court to-day, application was made before Mr Justice Reid • for judgment in a promissory note action, brought by Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons (Mr Berkerleg) against T. Thurlowfield and Albert Hawkes. The amount claimed was £682 17s 6d, being principal and interest alleged to be due under a promissory note, made by Hawkes and endorsed by Thurlowfield. A defence was filed, but defendants subsequently notified their intention riot to contest the claim. After evidence of proof of the promissory note had been given, judgment was entered for plaintiffs with costs.
