QUESTION OF SUPPLIES ON HOME SHIPS.
(By Telegraph. Press Association.)
WELLINGTON, Wednesday
The Wellington Industrial Association yesterday considered the question of supplies of New Zealand mineral waters on Hoine-going ships. The New Zealand Shipping Company recently inaugurated a system of stocking sufficient of these supplies in England to last over the return voyage, instead of taking in supplies in New Zealand for the Home run. It was urged that as a New Zealand company, it should study and encourage Dominion interests and industry as far as possible. Other shipping companies interested in the New Zealand trade did so, but it was feared this action of the New Zealand Company would be the thin edge of the wedge leading to other omissions inimical to New Zealand trade interests. It was decided to write to the New Zealand Shipping Company asking that consideration be given to New Zealand industries and produce wherever possible.
