SOLDIERS' MEMORIAL.

NORTHERN WAIROA SCHEME

(By Telegraph. Press Association.) DARGAVILLE, Friday.

The annual meeting of the Fallen Soldiers' Memorial Committee was held last night, the Mayor (Mr Hornblow) presiding. The election of officers resulted:— Chairman, the Mayor- deputy chairman, Mr F. A. Jones; secretary, Mr Hugh Brown. Four schemes were brought forward, viz., a band rotunda and beautifying the foreshore in Victoria Street; a bridge of remembrance over Kaihu River; cenotaph opposite the Post Office; and improving Memorial Park, at Mangawhare, by erecting memorial gates or a monument. This question will finally be settled at next meeting on December 14th. It was decided to call the scheme decided upon the Northern Wairoa Fallen Soldiers Memorial. _'
