BUSINESS ENTERPRISE.

F.A.C. LEASES BUSINESS BLOCK.

PRODUCE STORE TO BE OPENED.

Arrangements- were completed yesterday by the Farmers' Auctioneering Company, Ltd., to obtain the lease of the premises in Alexandra Street known as Spear and Fawcett's garage, which were recently purchased by Messrs Mclnnes and Ross. These premises therefore will, as from December Ist, be tenanted. In an interview with Mr W. rf. Hume, manager ,of the Farmers' Auctioneering Company, a Waipa Post representative was informed that it is the company's intention to particularly specialise in the requirements of the farmers and to open such service at Te Awamutu as will place the facilities of the company within ready reach of the farmers hereabouts. For the present, at all events, said Mr Hume, the company did not intend to cater for every day household requirements, but to confine their operations to the handling of produce and the like. : ,

This enterprise will do much to centralise business in Te Awamutu. Messrs Mclnnes and Ross are to be congratulated in the first instance upon having adopted the bold policy of purchasing a business block that had had no tenant for over a year, and the title of which, we understand, was somewhat involved, and therefore making it available again for commercial purposes; and now the enterprise of the Auctioneering Company must help to advance the commercial interests of Te Awamutu. It may be hoped that before many months have passed the company will include in its office system the same facilities as are provided in Te Kuiti, and other centres for its clients in relation to the stock department, and that its lead in this connection will be followed by the two other stock auctioneering firms. This service would, we feel confident, be appreciated by all farmers in the locality which makes Te Awamutu a natural business centre.
