BRIDGE AT WHANGAREI.
CONCRETE SCHEME DELAYED

WHANGAREI, Wednesday.
For some time past the matter of removing the Water Street bridge which is dangerous and too narrow for the traffic, has been seriously considered. The Borough Council had resolved that the present structure should he replaced with an up-to-date reinforced concrete bridge, having a wider'traffic area, and that the present structure be rebuilt to connect First Avenue with Saflers Avenue, but it was resolved at last night's meeting of the Council that the matter be held in abeyance owing to the urgent road works now under way. The engineer was instructed that the construction of the new bridge in ferro concrete would be left in abeyance. ,
