BATHING FATALITY.

BROTHER PLUCKILY RESCUED.

(By Telegraph. Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, Monday.

While bathing, in the Waihoupai river on Sunday, Charles James, aged 16, got into difficulties in midstream and was drowned. His brother William was rescued in an exhausted condition by Albert Maitland, a post office employee, who jumped in to the rescue fully clothed. The body has been recovered.
