HOSPITAL FEES.

THE TRACING OF DEFAULTERS. Giving a legal opinion on the question as to whether the Hospital Board would be involved in an action for libel if it delivered to its contributing local authorities a list of those persons who owed accounts to the Board for medical attention, Messrs Swarbrick and Swarbrick informed the Board yesterday that if the list of debtors delivered was correct and contained no errors it was quite clear that as malice could not be proved and the statement would be true, no libel would be committed and no rightof action would accrue to any person whose name appeared on the list. The Board decided to issue defaulters’ lists to the local bodies who required them.
