TWO SERIOUS CHARGES.

AGAINST AUCKLAND MAN. (By Telegraph. Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Monday. In the Auckland Supreme Court today, before His Honour Mr Justice Herdman, a carpenter named Percy Reginald Maddock charged with having unlawful knowledge of a girl under 16 years of age at Surfdale, Waiheke, about May 6, and again at Auckland about June 13. Prisoner pleaded not guilty. Mr Paterson, on behalf of the Crown Prosecutor, said that at the time of the alleged offences the girl was just over the age of 15 years. Accused was a carpenter and met the girl when working at Surfdale, where she lived with her mother. The case is proceeding.
