TEACHERS' SICK PAY.
NEW REGULATIONS ORDERED. (By Telegraph. Press Association.) AUCKLAND. Wednesday. The new regulations issued by the Education Department, which drastically limited the sick leave of teach-\. ers have caused a great deal of unrest throughout the Dominion, and strong representations have been made to the Hon. C. J. Parr, Minister of Education, to have the rules cancelled. The matter was taken up by the Educational Institute, and the resuJ** of the interview with the Minister* was communicated yesterday afternoon to the interim committee of the Auckland branch of the institute. Information to hand is to the effect that the executive committee h;u\ a personal interview with the Minister, and that after the facts were placed before him Mr Parr instructed the Erhic.Htirm Department to confer with the institute with the object of bringing out a modified set of sick leave regulations. It is anticipated that with f->.e dpnarfment and the institute working together a satisfactory solution of the present difficulties in regard to the matter will be reached.
