OTOROHANGA NEWS.
ITEMS OF INTEREST. (District Representative.) The Otorohanga Tennis Club will open the season on Saturday next. The courts have been well prepared by enthusiastic members headed by Mr Grace, who have put a lot of hard work into their voluntary job. The Paddy's Market which was held on Saturday in aid of the Otorohanga Band funds proved a great success, the amount netted being £35. Mrs J. Belcher and her lady friends are to be congratulated on the result of their enterprise. The tennis season was opened at Maihiihi on Saturday, the day being closed with a most successful dance in the public hall. The publication of the reports of the Hydro-Electric Committee in Saturday's Post has had the effect of arousing the public interest in this important matter. Of course the fact of the commission of enquiry having been held in camera the public had failed to take any interest in the question. Now, however, the ratepayers will no doubt move and get their power service from the scheme they think most beneficial to them.
