"THE FROCK."

What a playful mood the fashionmakers must have been in when they designed the frocks now showing for spring! A salon of importance was the scene of a delicious curtainraiser one morning recently when a mother and daughter of the nouveau riche came in to buy their finery. Mama's avoirdupois was the despair of every local beauty parlor, and flapper Miss was of the hefty order, but both had designs on the slim long line frocks that Paris has sent, out like an avalanche bidding the world of women wear them. Corset reductions, and the aid of tiring maids and judicious hints and scraps of wisdom from the presiding goddess were of no avail—it was a case of Cinderella's slipper and the ugly step-sisters —Amputation the only recourse. There was no filming of "The Frock." bul any scenario producer could have made a fortune on this one-reefer.
