Fire Brigade last evening, at which j strong resentment was shown in respect of remarks made by the Aucki land members of the Waihi Fire Board j at its recent quarterly meeting, the I chairman has tabled notice of motion j to rescind a resolution in regard to ; the cutting out of four telephones I from residences of firemen, and that i the alarm system be dispensed with ' and a telephone established at the j East End. In view of the threatened ! resignation of the brigade and probI able serious effects the chairman i deems such action necessary. In the | meantime he has instructed the secre- ' tarv of the board not to move in the I direction of having the telephones removed.
