ANOTHER “HOLD-UP.”

COAL TRUCKERS REFUSE WORK. (By Telegraph. Press Association.) GREYBOUTH, Wednesday. Top mine, at Rewanui, was idle today owing to a hold up caused by the truckers, who refused to work. It is understood that the mine manager on Monday placed two truckers on coal, owing to so many men being unemployed. The truckers accepted the change of work without objection, but yesterday some of them did not start work, and this morning the remainder of the truckers refused to start, claiming that the manager’s action was wrong, and that two other truckers should have been given the work. It is understood that a conference, held at Reefton on Saturday between the miners’ delegates and the owners’ representatives, was unsuccessful.
