THE NEW MINISTER.

HAMILTON REFORMERS PROTEST. MR YOUNG'S CLAIMS ADVANCED. At a large and representative meeting of Reform supporters in Hamilton general dissatisfaction was expressed at Mr J. A. Young, M.P. for Hamilton, not having been selected for Ministerial rank. It was agreed to send a protest to the Prime Minster expressing the opinion that the appointment had been made on the grounds of seniority rather than of efficiency and of ability to attend to the requirements of the Dominion. Without Jesiring to cast the slightest reflection on Mr R. F. Bollard, whose long and untiring service to the district was fully recognised, it was felt that Mr Young had prior claims, and it was earnestly hoped that it was uec toe late to confer Ministerial rank upon the member for Hamilton. The committea wished it to be understood that the meeting was called 'fi'irely unknown x Mr Young.
