IMPROVED MAIL SERVICE.

HONIKIWI SETTLERS CANVASSING. (Otorohanga Representative.) A meeting of settlers was held at Honikiwi yesterday to consider the matter of an improved mail service. Mr Ormsby, president of the Otorohanga Chamber of Commerce, was present and was voted to the chair. He and Messrs Patterson and Babhage described what had already been done. In order to have the present service improved it would be necessary for the settlers themselves to subsidise the service. It was decided to form an association and to canvass for subscriptions. A committee was set up to negotiate with the Postal Department and the mail contractor.
