OHAUPO TOWN BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING,
The Ohaupo Town Board met last Friday evening. There were present: Messrs E. J. Edwards (chairman), F, H. 'Gillett. A. Turnwald, N. J. Findlay, J. O. Death, and W. West.
Complaint was made in regard to straying cattle and horses, and the chairman moved that the Board appoint a ranger for the district, and |iiat the clerk write to Mr J. Horan, of Te Awamutu, offering him the position—Seconded by .Mr Findlaf and carried.
Tt was decided to erect a fence in •front of the new town hall site. It was left to the chairman and Mr Tur.n'wald to get the necessary material and labour.
The Department of Agriculture notified the inclusion of Japanese wineberry in the third schedule of the 'Noxious Weeds Act—The Board, being unaware of the presence of the 'weed in its district, decided to take no action.
A letter was received from the Department of Agriculture approving Mr A. E. Miles’ transfer arid renewal of slaughterhouse license. A lengthy discussion took place on the condition of the footpaths.—Mr Gillett moved that the Board purchase a truck of chips for repair to streets. — Seconded by Mr Turnwald and carried.
The rates previously struck were adopted. Accounts amounting to £l3 8s lOd were passed for payment.
