TE AWAMUTU SALE.

At Te Awamutu on Saturday last the Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company yarded 766 head of cattle, 360 sheep, and 74 pigs, and have to report a satisfactory clearance. Buyers were present from Auckland, Glen Murray, Matamata, Tirau, Mamaku, and King Country districts, with the result that competition was well sustained to the conclusion of the sale. Beef was much on a par with recent sales, but forward and store bullocks showed direct improvement. Dairy heifers also were in excellent demand, and the whole of the entry changed hands at advanced prices. Prices for young cattle were similar to those ruling at other centres. Fat steers sold to £6 Is; light and unfinished, £3 19s to £4 16s; fat cows to £5 4s; light weights, £2 18s to £3 19s; grown steers in forward condition made from £4 Is to £4 16s 1 ; store steers, £2 15s to £2 17s fid; 2S-year P.A. steers, £3 7s to £3 13s; 2|-year Shorthorn steers, £2 10s to £2 15s:; 18months steers, 35s to £2 ss; rough, from 30s; store cows, 25s to £2; Jersey cross heifer calves (medium quality), £2 2s 6d to £2 11s; Shorthorn calf heifers, £1 to £1 ss; steers, 12s to 17s 6d; dairy heifers, r.w.b., Jersey best, £ll 15s to £l3; small, £6 10s to ‘£B 10s; Shorthorn heifers, £7 5s to £8; inferior and backward from £4 ss; fat lambs made to 21s; store lambs, small, 10s. »
