At Giglborne the other day a man was fined 10s and 7s costs for not moving on at the request of a constable when' talking to a girl on the footpath at 11 a.m.

A Levin resident, who had between 50 and 60 acres of harvesting to do, states that he wasf swamped with appicants looking for work, upwards of 100 interviewing him with the hope of getting a job.

H. Price, and dived through one of the large plate-glass windows, smashing it to pieces. The wether was then persuaded to rejoin the flock.
