HOSPITALS BILL.
PROTESTS FROM DOCTORS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, Wednesday. Profound dissatisfaction was expressed by local medical men at the proposals in 'the Hospitals Bill, which they suggest be referred to the Medical Conference in Wellington at the end of February. The arbitrary clauses imposing duties on medical men are considered impracticable. Tfhe new regulations and increased fees threaten to abolish the small maternity home, the standby of the poorer people. It is asserted that the Bill will destroy the cordial cooperation between doctors and the Department which is esential to public health.
