PARAWERA ROAD BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Parawera Road Board was held on Thursday morning in the office of the secretary (Mr S. J. Fortescue). There were present: Messrs C. A. Crook (chairman), W. G. Park, and E. H. Rhodes. Apologies for non-attendance were received from Messrs E. R. Bulmer and A. 0. Kay. A resolution approving the finding of the Boundaries Commission was forwarded to the Minister of internal Affairs. Of five tenders for contract No. 5, that of Mr A. T. Cooper was accepted, on the motion of the chairman. • • The engineer’s report was read as follows: “ Since last meeting tenders were called for metalling the Puahue soldiers’ settlement road, and a number v/ere received. The formation of the»quarry road is proceeding satisfactorily, and should be completed at an early date. Messrs Donald and party have completed their formation contract on the Kihikihi-Waotu Road. No authority has yet been received to continue metalling on this road.” — The report was adopted. The estimates are expected to be down at any date, and the size of the contract for the Kihikihi-Waotu Road will then be determined.
