(By Telegraph—Press Association.) 1 WELLINGTON, Friday. The Minister of Defence announced to-day that the Government had decided to issue free railway passes to all bona fide competitors attending' the annual meeting of the Dominion Rifle Association. The association was being asked to asist the Government in the exercise of strictest economy 'by ensuring that only bona fide competitors in the several matches should receive free passes. It was not desired that persons who were neither good shots nor anxious to promote the interests of rifle shooting should be able to obtain free passes costing several pounds merely by paying a few shillings entrance money.
