A YOUTHFUL ESCAPADE.
PROPOSED ISLAND TRIP.
SEQUEL IN COURT,

Two youths, the elder being 22 years of age, had an adventure cut short by the intervention of. the police. They proposed to proceed to the Kermadecs in the yacht Mizpah, which the elder youth claimed to have purchased. The lad, by the aid of a cheque book, had obtained a large quantity of stores, which were sent to the wharf and placed under the care of a watchman, whom they paid five shillings an hour —until detectives relieved the watchman of his duty. At present the youths stand charged with uttering a cheque, by means of which benzine and oil were obtained.
