SETTLERS OPPOSE CHANGE

WHAKATANE, Friday

It was reported at a meeting of the Whakatane Chamber of Commerce that a new land area is to be formed on the east coast, having Gisborne as its headquarters, and including Whakatane. A resolution was> passed expressing the opinion that it was i nthe best interests of the district generally that control should remain in Auckland.
