COUNTY ELECTIONS.
WAIPA AND WAITOMO. The elections of county councillors were held yesterday. Following are the results: — Waipa. In only two ridings of the county of Waipa were elections necessary. An asterisk against the name denotes the sitting members. Hamilton Riding: *E. -F. Peacocke 144, *A. H. Ellicott 79 J. Holmes 39. Newcastle Riding: Incomplete returns are: A. Livingstone 75, A. H. Crawford 35, S. Saulbrey 24. Waitomo. Incomplete returns place the candidates in the following order: — Otorohanga Riding: *C. G. Murphy 99, B. Budden 70. 'The other ridings give results as follow, but the figures may be altered when a few small returns come in: Hangatiki: *W..A. Lee 95, A. Scholes 72. Tangitu: *J. Wall 85, J. Andrew 83, H. Julian 81. Te Kuiti: *P. D. Hargreaves 64, G. Bremner 26. Paemako: C. K. Wilson 129. Aria: P. D. Smyth 105.
Waitomo: M. H. Wynyard 58, T. Boyd 39, J. D. Stevenson 31.
