BILL APPERSON’S BOY. Anybody who has read “The Little Shepherd of Kingdom Come.” John Fox’s famous story of the Kentucky mountain people, will like “Bill Apperson’s Boy,” which is to be screened at the Empire Theatre next Tuesday. It is a film adaptation by First National of the story “That Woman,” a fine depiction of live love and- hate amongst the simple hill folk of that region. The role of the “boy” has been given to Jack Pickford, and the result is a fine character study of a wayward youth' who objects to his father’s second marriage and raises no end of a disturbance. Martha Yarnton, his sweetheart, is played by Gloria Hope, who gives a perfect picture of a true-hearted high-spirited American girl. The outbreak of a real old Kentucky family feud is one of the striking features of the play, which is never dull, humour alternating vPith pathos, comedy with tragedy, in rapid succession.
