£600,000 TOTED BY PARLIAMENT. HORA HORA EXTENSION. In the public works estimates the sum of £600,000 is appropriated for the development of the water power resources of New Zealand during the current year. Last year? a similar amount was voted, but the .total actual expenditure was £58,970.. For this year £IOO,OOO is set aside for Arapuni, as compared with £250,000 last year. The expenditure at Arapuni to 31st March last was £5955. The vote for the Mangahao scheme is £250,000. At Hora Hora £BO,OOO is voted for new works. £IO,OOO for the purchase of material for stock, and £IO,OOO for working expenses. This makes a total for Hora Hora of £IOO,OOO, as against which there was a liability on 31st March of £45.670.
