LABOUR DAY.

CELEBRATIONS AT TE AWAMUTU. GOOD ENTRIES RECEIVED. In addition to the entries received for the axemen's carnival and athletic section of the Labour Day celebrations at Te Awamutu on Monday next, as published on Tuesday, very good entries have been lodged for the various events in the military section. These entries closed last night and all< of the events will. be well contested by members of the military units from all parts of the Waikato. The 16th Regimental Band will be in attendance throughput the day. Every preparation is being made for a large muster and, given fine weather it is certain that the day's outing will be a popular one. The proceeds are for the purposes of the Te Awamutu Municipal Band. The proceedings will commence at noon when the massed bands —16th Regimental, Kihikihi Town and Te Awamutu Municipal—will parade to Victoria Park. The whole afternoon will be devoted to the programme of sports and competitions. In addition, races, etc., will be promoted in which the children of all schools may compete.

Stalls on the ground will include afternoon tea, fruit, soft drinks, etc. A meeting of all committees is to be held to-morrow night at which final arrangements will be considered.
