AN OLD MAN’S DEATH.
(By Telegraph—Press Association).) AUCKLAND, This Day. P. Maitland, aged seventy-seven, was found dead at a boarding house where lie had resided for forty years. Among liis belongings was an old box containing a considerable sum of money including old colonial bank notes. The money included 361 sovereigns, 85 half-sovereigns, eight ,£lO notes, live £5 notes. 200 £1 notes and eight 'cn shilling notes. The total amount hidden in the box was £S2S.
