WEDDING.

BARTELS—RYSDALE. A pretty wedding was solemnised in the Roman Catholic Church at Kihikihi on Monday last when Miss Mary Rysdale, daughter of Mr and Mrs Rysdale, was united in the bonds of holy matrimony to Mr E. Bartels, of Hamilton. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked very charming in a handsome white handembroidered silk dress, with veil and orange blossoms, and carrying a shower bouquet of asters and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaid, Miss E. McCormick, cousin of the bride, was prettily attired in a white silk dress, hand-embroidered, and also carried a bouquet. Mr A. McCormick officiated as best man. Mrs F. K. Moody played the Wedding March as the bridal party approached the altar. The Rev. Father Jansen performed the wedding ceremony. Showers of rice wera in evidence as the brile and groom left the church. A sumptuous wedding breakfast was partaken of at the residence of the bride’s parents. Father Jansen, in a neat speech, proposed the health of the bride and her consort, which was enthusiastically honoured. The bridegroom responded in suitable terms. The happy couple left by motor car en route to Hamilton amid the good wishes of their friends. . The bridegroom’s gift to the bride was a beautiful gold bangle, and to the bridesmaid a pretty gold brooch set with pearls and rubies. The wedding presents were numerous, useful, and ornamental.
