JERSEY BULLS Also on account of Mr W. J. Chynoweth, who is disposing of his annual offering of high-class milking strain pedigree Jersey bulls and surplus cows 5 PED. JERSEY COWS 7 PED. JERSEY BULLS 40 GRADE JERSEY HEIFERS, and about ,15 Grade Cows Further particulars will be advertised later. The attention of all Jersey breeders is drawn to the above sale. The pedigree herd contains the blood of those great butter-fat bulls, K.C.B. and Eminent Fontaine, ana any dairyman who is not in possession of a Pedigree Jersey, should make a beginning at this sale. Small areas of high-priced dairying land must be farmed to the utmost advantage, and in Taranaki it has been shown a gain and again that there is no dairy breed to surpass the Jersey if you want to lift the mortgage on the farm. You can feed five Jerseys to four animals of any other bred, and that they turn into butter-fat what they consume, has been proved by the wonderful records put up by the breed throughout the world. In New Zealand a Taranaki cow under Government test, has produced 96.81 b of butter-fat in 365 days. At cheese prices, 2/ per lb this means a monetary return for one cow of £96 8/ for one year. Mr Cobbe has sold his farm, and the entire herd is for sale. The herd contains animals sired by Eminent Fontaine, Psyche’s Bachelor (a show ring champion), Majesty’s Eminent, and the imported bull V.C., and descended from cows giving up to 701 b butter-fat per month. Catalogues giving calving dates, pedigrees and butter-fat records can be obtained from the auctioneers.
