Speaking at the farewell social on Friday night, Corporal D. Bockett, town clerk of this borough, offered some advice to the Mayor to overcome a nuisance which is not made an offence within the meaning of the borough By-laws. Pie was speaking of the grumblers—the ceaseless critics of any and every policy of municipal control. “If you have any of these men on the council, if you have them about the street corners, the best remedy I can suggest is to bundle them off to Trenliam wrere a few days of military control will rob them of any silly desires to express silly opinions. Trcntham is not the place for a liberal expression of opinions, although if a man lias a real grievance he soon learns that -there is a time and place to make it heard, and perhaps if tlie same principle applied to municipal affairs it would be a good thing for everybody.”
