Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as follows : NGARUAWAHIA SALE. Last Friday, the Ilth inst., we held our usual monthly sale in the above yards, where we yarded 350 head of cattle and 55 sheep. There was a fair attendance of buyers, but bidding was none too brisk, especially on young cattle. We quote : —Three-year bullocks £6, 2-year steers £4 14s, cows in fresh condition £5 to £6 9 S > fat cows £B, cows and calves £6, 18months steers £3 15s to £3 16s, yearling steers £2 is to £2 10s, Bulls £3 7s 6d to £6, weaner calves 18s to 28s, 2-tooth ewes and wethers mixed 16s 6d. TE AROHA SALE. On the same day in the above yards we held our usual monthly sale and yarded 212 head of cattle. Like Ngaruawahia sale young cattle were not wanted. We quote : —Fifteen-month steers £3 to £3 10s, yearling heifers £2 Is, fat cows £6 7 S » fresh-con-ditioned cows £4 I2s to £5 12s 6d, cows and calves £5 6s, empty 2year heifers £4 2s, 2 to 2%-year steers £4 to £5, dairy cows £6 2s 6d. CAMBRIDGE SALE. In the Cambridge yards last Monday, the 14th inst., we had a small yarding, but a successful sale, most of the young cattle being sold privately after the sale. We quote : —Yearling heifers £2 3s to £3,18-months heifers in calf £3 I2s 6d to £4, steer calves 22s to 265, heifer calves 16s, store cows £4 Ils to £5 is, bulls £7 13s, dairy cows £6 7s 6d. The N.Z. At Te Awamutu on Saturdaylast we yarded 837 head of cattle. There was a large attendance of buyers, and a strong demand for store and young cattle, all classes selling at advanced rates. We quote : —Fat cows £6 17s 6d to £7 10s, fat heifers £6 10s, cows in forward condition £5 6s to £5 15s, fresh cows £4 8s to £4 14s, 18 month to 2 year Shorthorn heifers £3 15s to £4 ss, good 15 month old steers £3 13s to £4, others £3 6s to £3 los, well-grown calves £l< 7s 6d to £l ios, others £l 2s 6d to £l ss, heavy bulls 8% to9j)4gns, fat and forward ewes 15s, weaner pigs and slips 9s to £l. OHAUPO SALE. At Ohaupo on Tuesday we had an entry of 523 cattle, which all sold readily at most satisfactory prices. Prices were : —Fat cows £6 ios to £7 17s 6d, fresh to forward conditioned cows £4 13s to £5 7s 6d, store cows £3 14s to £4, 15 months old steers £3 7s 6d to £4, three-vear old steers (bad colours) £5 14s to £5 15s, threeyear old empty Shorthorn heifers £3 15s, weaner calves £l 5s to £l 13s, two-year old bulls 5M to B Y\ guineas, 500 ewes and lambs (all counted) 9s lid, dairy cows £5 15s to £7 I2s 6d.
