PREMIER PICTURES
The programme to be presented at the Town Hall this evening is one that should appeal to all. News portrayed by the Gaumont Graphic is as usual full of interest. An interesting and entertaining study entitled “Monkey Intelligence ” occupies a place on the programme. The leading picture of the series is contained in 2,000 feet of interesting picture narrative, called “ When Iron and Steel Meet.” The story deals with the ambitions of a German iron king. Thanhouser’s drama, “ Their Great Big Beautiful Doll,” and a delightful scenic senes, “ Puy de Dome,” are included in the bill. *An Exciting Honeymoon ” and “ Mabel’s Nerve ” are among the comics. BELGIAN RELIEF CONCERT/ It is hardly necessary to remind our readers of the concert and dance to be held in the Town Hall on Thursday evening next to raise funds towards the relief of distressed Belgians. A splendid programme has been arranged, and several well-known musicians will assist. These include Miss Margaret Mackenzie (Te Awamutu), Mrs Cowan (Te Kuiti), and others. Full details of the programme appear in an inset with this issue. The Te Awamutu Town Band has kindly offered to assist at the concert, and will play several selections outside the hall. A dance will be held at the conclusion of the concert.' The committee has made arrangements to show the results of the elections immediately they are received. The concert will commence at 8 p.m. sharp, and the prices of admission are 3s and 2s.
