NOTICE OF POLLING DAY. TN pursuance of the Legislature Act, IQOB, and its amendments, I Henry James Dixon, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Waikato, do hereby give notice that, by virtue of a Writ bearing date the 2Tst day of November, 1914, under the hand or the Clerk of the Writs, an ELECTION will be held for the return of a qualified person to serve as member for the said district; and that the latest hour for receiving nominations of Candidates will be noon on the 30th day of November, 1914; and that the poll (if necessary) will be taken at the several polling places of the said district on the ioth day of December, 1914. Every man desirous of becoming a Candidate must be nominated by not less than two electors of the district, by a nomination paper as prescribed by Section 105 of the said Act, delivered to the Returning Officer on or before noon on the 30th day of November, 1914. The hours of polling are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dated this 23rd day of November, 1914. H.J.DIXON, Returning Officer.
NOTICE OF LICENSING POLL AND NATIONAL PROHIBITION POLL, and of the time and place for selection of fit persons to appoint scrutineers therefor. In pursuance of The Licensing Act, 1908, and its amendments thereto, I, HENRY JAMES DIXON, Returning Officer for the Waikato Licensing District, do hereby give notice that on the 10th day of December, 1914, the day appointed for taking the Electoral Poll for the Electoral District of Waikato, simultaneously therewith a LICENSING POLL will be taken upon the following proposals : —■ I vote for Continuance I vote for No-License and concurrently with the taking of the said Licensing Poll there will be submitted for the determination of the electors of the said Licensing District the question whether National Prohibition shall come into force throughout New Zealand. The question will be submitted in the following form:— I vote for National Continuance I vote for National Prohibition Nominations of persons to appoint'Scrutineers, in accordance with the Licensing Act, 1908, must be lodged with me not later than 5 o'clock in the afternoon of the 3rd day of December, 1914. And I hereby give further notice that I shall on the sth day of December, 1914, at the hour of II o'clock in the forenoon, at my office in the Courthouse, Hamilton, publicly consider all nomination papers of persons to appoint Scrutineers which have been duly lodged in respect of the Licensing Poll for the said Licensing District and in respect of the said National Prohibition Poll.
