AT TE PAHU.
< On Thursday night the Public Hall was well filled with an appreciative audience to listen to the political address of Mr J. A. Young, M.P. Mr D. Bruce was proposed to the chair, and referred to Mr Young as being well-known to the audience.
The candidate spoke vigorously for close on two hours, and was very well received.
At the conclusion Mr H. Kirk moved, and Mr H. Madsen seconded, a hearty vote of thanks to Mr Young for his very able speech, and confidence in him as the right man to represent them in the coming Parliament, which was carried unanimously. The Chairman said that before the meeting ended he wished to move that Mr Young be accorded a special vote of thanks for the manner in which he had helped them in the way of county works, etc. This was carried by acclamation.
