ENTERTAINMENTS.
PREMIER PICTURES. A good programme will be screened at the Town Hall tonight. The star drama, Love’s Sunset, is most highly commented upon and is classed as being a modern East Lynn. Other interesting dramas are the Higher Law and The Tell Tale Star. A scenic picture of interest will be the Blue Danube, whilst of particular interest just now will be the scenes of the works at Longuay. The town where these works are situated has been V frequently mentioned in the war cables, and the pictures should be of more than passing interest. The latest Pathe Gazette showing daily happenings in other lands is as usual of high merit, and the comics are a good laughable selection.
CAFE CHANTANT.
The Puahue bachelors are promoting an enterteinment which is to take place at the Hairini Hall on Friday, 13th November, the proceeds of which are to be devoted to the Belgian relief fund. The programme, for the first part, will consist of selected musical items, after which a fancy dress ball will be held. The ladies of . the district are arranging for the supper which will be a feature ot the evening’s entertainment. The . hall is to be specially decorated in honor of the Belgians, and to - assist in this, and in the arrangement of costumes, a Belgian lady is bringing to.the district at the request of the Belgian Consul a quantity of material, and for the. week previous will be engaged in preparing for the proper representation of the Belgian people.
GEO. W. WILSON.
The public of Te Awamutu will welcome the return visit of Mr Geo. Wilberforce Wilson, the enter turning hypnotist, who will appear in Te Awamutu on Wednesday, October 28th. Mr Wilson’s last demonstration was ' certainly the most amusing exhibition of hypnotism that has taken place here, I 'and the huge audience could readily understand why this entertainer should have become so famous. His houses everywhere have been crowded for three reasons; his pleasing personality, his deep
sense of the value of his powers, and the excellent taste displayed in the choice of his side-splitting “ creations.” Some ot Hamilton’s leading artists will take part. A dance will follow.
