PATERANGI.

The annual meeting of the Paterangi Tennis Club was held on Saturday evening. There was a very good attendance, Mr C. Macky being in the chair. The annual report and balance-sheet were duly presented to the meeting and formally approved. The latter showed a cash credit balance of l6s iod. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: —President, Mr C. Macky (re-elected); vice-presi-dents, Messrs C. Jephson, G. Finn, and W. G. Macky; committee, Messrs Scott, Ryburn, E. Bowman, K. Johnstone, L. Macky and Snell; secretary and treasurer, Mr G. Bowman ; selection committee, Messrs E. Bowman, W. Scott, and C. Snell. The subscription was fixed as for the year previous, viz., gents 10s, ladies ss, and all players over three in one resolved tha tjbkrfrp resident and with the hall conmjrffee with a view to having erected, each party to meet half of the cost. The opening day for the ensuing season was fixed for October 3rd, and a working bee arranged to meet on 19th inst. to get the courts into good working order. All the ladies present undertook to arrange for all catering for the season. A very hearty vote of thanks was j accorded the retiring secretary, j Mr F. Ryburn. An equally en- • thusiastic vote of appreciation was carried in favour of Miss E. Sing, secretary of the ladies’ committee.

Rain is wanted very badly. The district pastures are good though short.

The full complement of suppliers are nowattending the local creamery and the daily milk supply is in the vicinity of 10,000 lbs.

The statutory meeting of the Te Awamutu Theatre Co., JLtd., took place yesterday at the Te Awamutu Hotel. Mr H. Y. Collins, chairman of the provisional directors, presiding. Routine business was transacted, and the offer of the building site given by Mr J. Jackson was accepted. The following directors were elected : —Messrs G. M. A. Ahier, H. Y. Collins, J. Jackson, M. S. Laurie, J. Middlebrook, G. Spinley and Capt. Hope-Johnstone.
