TOWN BAND CONCERT
The concert and hypnotic display to be given in the Town Hall on Wednesday night, September 9th, is creating unusual interest, and there can be little doubt that a crowded house will result. The band has been
fortunate in securing the services of Mr Geo. Wilberforce Wilson, whose wonderful powers have been attracting the attention of many members of the medical fraternity. Wherever Mr Wilson has appeared the audiences have been most appreciative, and the press has unanimously and ungrudgingly declared demonstra-
tions to be the most genuine, wholesome, intellectual and amusing ever given in the Dominion. Unlike most hypnotists, Mr Wilson will use for his demonstration only well-known Waikato subjects. A local businessman has consented to be a prospective “ subject ” for the cataleptic sleep, but has stipulated that he is not to take part in the amusing tests. Mr Wilson
has agreed to these conditions, and the local doctors are to be invited to judge the test. PREMIER PICTURES. A remarkable star dramatic reproduction will be shown this evening at the Town Hall, Te Awamutu. “ Leah Kleschna ”is the title of the drama, and depicts the life story of a woman of striking personality, in which crime, repentance and love form a prominent part. A scenic that should prove of special interest is “Around Oamaru.” “A Sketch of Venice,” is another beautiful scenic that is worth witnessing. The comedies include “Caught Courting,” and “ Mabel’s Strange Predicament.” The latest world’s happenings will be shown from the Pathe Gazette.
